Eco Flower Fairies LLC proudly represents the U.S. brand and is the exclusive distributor of S.C. Ambrosius Prodcom S.R.L. from Transylvania, Romania. Our manufacturing team, composed of skilled artisans, predominantly women, demonstrates extraordinary patience and devotion in crafting each and every doll showcased on this website.

Ambrosius took root in 1996, thanks to the vision of its owner, Mrs. Katalin Poszony. It all began with her crafting custom wool felt dolls for the Waldorf School of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where her daughters were students. Drawing inspiration from the wonders of nature, she embarked on a journey of personalizing flowers, plants, and fruits using sustainable materials like wool and wool felt. The outcome? A charming collection of eco-friendly, handcrafted miniature dolls, renowned for their decorative and educational appeal, a legacy that has since gained Ambrosius worldwide acclaim.

These exceptional, high-quality dolls are meticulously handcrafted. Ambrosius stands out as one of the rare Romanian companies that takes pride in providing work-from-home opportunities for mothers caring for young children, retirees, and individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, a portion of the company's profits is dedicated to supporting the local Waldorf school and educational initiatives in underprivileged Transylvanian villages.

These lovely dolls were introduced to the U.S. wholesale market in 2012, when Eco Flower Fairies was founded by Nicoleta Taylor, a former member of the Ambrosius team who moved from Romania to Phoenix, Arizona.

Over time, Eco Flower Fairies has forged partnerships with numerous online and physical stores across the United States, including select Waldorf school stores (explore Our Retailers).

In 2020, Eco Flower Fairies initiated a collaboration with the talented Dutch photographer, Sabine van Deudekom, to unveil the Eco Flower Fairies YouTube channel. Here, the captivating world of Ambrosius dolls springs to life. :)

AMBROSIUS ROMANIA

If you still have the time to learn more about us, please read below the story of Ambrosius Romania, narrated by its founder:

"Our story goes back to a pioneering period of Waldorf education in our country and I am very grateful for having the opportunity to participate in it!

Waldorf education started in Romania in 1990, and our atelier was created in 1996. By then, I was a mother of two Waldorf kindergarten children. After participating in different doll-making workshops for Waldorf education-inspired toy-making, I started sewing dolls for playing out of natural fabrics, stuffed with wool, hair made of woolen thread and faces only denoted, in order for the child to be able to imagine the dolls in different moods.

During the next years, and after visiting many schools and kindergartens in Germany and UK, as well as wonderful shops for natural toys, I fell in love with the flower fairies and other small folk used for decorating the seasonal tables.

Gradually these became the mainstream of our production. After some years, two significant ladies joined our team: Irma, a lady who came from a big manufacturing plant and reorganized our production, and Lucia, a wonderful artist. She became the creator of our fairies and dollhouse dolls, also supervising us, and training our artisans on the intricacy of our dollmaking craft.

From the very beginning, we tried to offer work to socially disadvantaged persons, such as retired ladies who live on a too-small income, mothers who had to stay at home with their young children, and those caring for sick persons in the family. We also collaborate with BD-Tova, a small manufacturing plant from Brno, Czechia, that works mainly with disabled people, and we use in our production process the paper balls and paper cones that they produce.

Today our team is made of over 30 ladies who work from home, and 5 ladies who work at our atelier, providing QA and packaging. We all have very different qualifications and backgrounds, but what we have in common is the gift of needlework and artistic flair.

Our brand was launched on the market in 1996 under the name of Ambro Dolls in Europe and Eco Flower Fairies in the US. These are the names that we use for our small series of handmade miniature dolls for decorating purposes, together with our very limited series of dollhouse dolls with flexible body parts.

We have customers on 4 continents! The smile on the face of our customers, and the cheerful glance in their eyes is our biggest reward. We would like our small folk to be messengers of our artistry and quality, and little heart warmers for You also!

"We are Ambrosius Prodcom SRL, a small Romanian atelier that was founded in 1996 and nowadays is renowned worldwide for its handcrafted Waldorf-inspired dolls, like soft dolls, dollhouse dolls, and a very large variety of flower-inspired fairies.

Our flower fairies are dedicated to celebrating the seasons, and they are part of the seasonal or nature tables in the Waldorf education. A seasonal table is a table or a shelf in a school or kindergarten room, or perhaps a window sill in a private home, where beautiful scenes are crafted to reflect the rhythms of the seasons.

They are usually decorated with beautiful silks in season-specific colors, display “treasures” that children find in nature - like stones, twigs, moss, and fruit - and often include handmade figurines, such as fairies, gnomes, and animals.

For this reason, our flower fairies are not simple dolls, they are messengers of the world of flowers and the miraculous beings who watch over them. They help children to develop a great diversity of creative games, that allow them to share their thoughts and emotions much easier. They also inspire many parents to create together with their children an interactive playground with stories that open the door to the expression of the child’s inner world, sometimes difficult to access.

Our production is structured to reflect the four seasons. Each season we send out an offer that includes the pictures and prices of the existing and new models that we are able to handcraft for that particular season."
