Have you ever been deep into the forest, where there are no more trails to follow? Where it is so peaceful and quiet that all you hear is the singing of the birds and the rustling of the wind through the trees? Well, then you must have met Mr. and Mrs. Mushroom, who live there with their three children. Look, there they are! Mrs. Mushroom is reading a storybook to her son Junior and daughter Missy, and Mr. Mushroom is playing with the youngest, their little baby girl Mini. Today Mr. and Mrs. Mushroom are going to pick berries at the edge of the forest. They decide to leave baby Mini at home in the care of Junior and Missy. It is the first time Junior and Missy look after Mini all by themselves, so Mrs. Mushroom is a bit worried. Don't worry mom, Missy reassures her as they leave, everything is going to be all right. Missy knows exactly how to entertain her little sister. She spins her around and around like a merry-go-round. Mini giggles and squeals with joy. When Junior sees an acorn, he gets very excited. Come on Missy, he calls out, let's play soccer! That sounds way too tempting. After all, they can play soccer and watch Mini at the same time, right? But what Missy forgets is that baby Mini just started crawling and likes nothing more than to discover her world! Suddenly she sees a beautiful white little feather hanging from a twig. But just as she reaches for it, the wind blows it away. That's a fun game! thinks Mini, as she chases the feather further into the forest. In the meantime Junior and Missy have lots of fun playing with the acorn. But then Missy turns around to check on her little sister. Where is Mini?! she calls out in panic. They both look around while calling out her name, but there is no sign of their little sister. O no! What are we going to do? Missy weeps. She is just a little baby all alone in the forest. What if she gets hurt somehow. Not far from there Sprok is strolling through the forest when he hears someone crying. It sounds like someone’s in need, Sprok says, let’s see if I can be of any help. Also Autumn, who is just flying through, hears the crying and decides to check it out. Ow Mr. Sprok, Missy cries out when she sees him, our little sister Mini is missing and it is our fault! There there, don’t cry, that’s not going to do you any good. It’s always best to stay calm in a bad situation. When Autumn arrives and finds out what’s going on too, the four of them start searching for baby Mini right away. For hours and hours they look for her. They look for her everywhere! Where could she be?! Then finally it is Autumn who finds baby Mini. She is peacefully sleeping in a cozy little hole just big enough for her to fit in, and is holding a little white feather. Come on little adventurer, Autumn smiles as she gently picks her up and carries her to her brother and sister. Thank you Mr.Sprok, thank you Miss Autumn! the children call out. We are so happy she is safe and unharmed! You’re welcome, Autumn says, just promise us not to lose sight of your sister again. And now hurry home before your parents get back. And so the children rush home and are just in time for their parents to return from their trip with a basket full of berries. When they ask them about their day, Mini starts babbling, showing them the little white feather she so courageously chased around the forest. Junior and Missy are happy their sister isn’t able to speak yet, and can't tell them what actually happened today. Baby Mini had quite a day today, Autumn says while watching the family from a distance. Indeed she had, Sprok agrees. Indeed she had.
